On 10th April 2024, UDMRI Dehradun conducted an Anti-Ragging Awareness Program aimed at fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus environment for all students. The event was organized by the institution’s Anti-Ragging Committee in line with UGC regulations and UDMRI’s zero-tolerance policy towards ragging.
The program began with a formal welcome and an address by senior faculty members and the anti-ragging committee, who emphasized the importance of maintaining mutual respect, empathy, and discipline within the student community. The speakers outlined the legal consequences of ragging, the role of institutional support systems, and the significance of building a culture of support and friendship among peers.
A detailed presentation was conducted, highlighting real-life case studies, helpline information, and steps students can take if they witness or experience any form of ragging. Posters, banners, and handouts were distributed throughout the campus to reinforce the anti-ragging message.
To make the session interactive, students participated in a short quiz and role-play activities, reinforcing their understanding of anti-ragging protocols and their responsibility in creating a positive campus culture.
The program concluded with all students and staff taking an anti-ragging pledge, affirming their commitment to upholding dignity, safety, and camaraderie within the institution.
The Anti-Ragging Awareness Program at UDMRI served as a strong reminder that education thrives in an atmosphere of respect and security, and UDMRI remains committed to ensuring a ragging-free academic environment for all.
