World No Tabbaco Day

About the Event

On the occasion of World No Tobacco Day, UDMRI College conducted a comprehensive awareness program to educate students and staff about the harmful effects of tobacco consumption and to promote a tobacco-free lifestyle.

The event began with an informative session by medical professionals and public health experts who highlighted the severe health risks associated with tobacco use, including cancer, heart disease, and respiratory disorders. The session also addressed the social and economic burden caused by tobacco addiction.

Highlights of the Program:

  • Expert talks on the health impact of tobacco
  • Screening of short films and awareness videos
  • Student-led skits and street plays on anti-tobacco themes
  • Poster-making and slogan-writing competitions
  • Pledge-taking ceremony for a tobacco-free campus
  • Awareness rally around the campus and local community

Objective:

The primary goal of the event was to empower youth with knowledge and motivate them to reject tobacco in all forms. It also aimed to encourage peer support systems that help students and community members who wish to quit. Through this initiative, UDMRI reaffirmed its commitment to building a healthier, more informed, and responsible student community.
