The Gangotri Human Resources & Development Society, Allahabad (U.P.) is a registered public charitable society formed with the aim of rendering social and public services to the poor and needy section of the society and providing education and medical facilities for the state, national and international levels. The founder Chairman Mr. V.S. Pandey is the visionary and core force of the society to achieve what the society stands for.

The society would not have seen the light of the day but for the distinct far sightedness and extra-ordinary approach of the founding Chairman has been engaged since long in social, education and medical service for the society. It is because of his zeal, enthusiasm, determination, patience, and perseverance that the society and its projects have been given shape and progress. The Institute of Dental and Medical Sciences, along with Uttaranchal Hospital within the campus, has been conceptualized as a center of excellence in dental and medical sciences training and research.

The society has achieved the target of establishing the dental institute with excellent teaching and research facilities. Its B.D.S. degree has been recognized by the Govt. of India, Dental Council of India and its affiliation with Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Central University, Srinagar, Gahrwal Uttarakhand, thus this dream project has come to its existence with its rightful name as “Uttaranchal Dental and Medical Research Institute”. The first batch of B.D.S. course was admitted from academic session 2006 onwards and the first batch of MDS was admitted in 2016. B.D.S. and M.D.S. courses are both recognized by the Govt. of India, Dental Council of India.
