Position Overview:

The Oral and Maxillofacial Teaching Faculty member will be responsible for providing instruction, mentorship, and training to dental and medical students, residents, and postgraduate students in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery. This position combines teaching, clinical practice, and academic responsibilities to support the development of future professionals in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching and Instruction:

* Deliver high-quality lectures, seminars, and practical training in oral and maxillofacial surgery, including both theoretical and hands-on components.
* Provide instruction on topics such as surgical anatomy, diagnosis and management of conditions, trauma, reconstructive surgery, and anesthesia.
* Supervise and guide dental and medical students, residents, and postgraduates in clinical settings, ensuring they receive comprehensive training.
* Participate in the development and updating of curriculum to ensure that it meets current standards and advancements in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
* Assess and evaluate the performance of students through written exams, practical evaluations, and clinical assessments.

Clinical Practice:

* Actively participate in clinical practice and contribute to patient care in the area of oral and maxillofacial surgery.
* Provide consultations and perform surgeries, demonstrating advanced techniques in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
* Supervise and mentor residents in clinical settings, ensuring they acquire practical, hands-on experience.
* Participate in multidisciplinary patient care and collaborate with other medical specialties when needed.

Research and Academic Development:

* Contribute to ongoing research projects within the department and across relevant fields of oral and maxillofacial surgery.
* Publish scholarly articles, case studies, or research findings in reputable journals to advance the field.
* Participate in and support research efforts related to clinical practices, treatment methods, and innovations in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
* Encourage students and residents to engage in research activities, fostering a scholarly environment.

Mentorship and Professional Development:

* Provide academic and career mentorship to students and residents, supporting their professional growth.
* Foster a positive, supportive, and collaborative learning environment for all learners.
* Attend and present at academic conferences, workshops, and continuing education seminars to stay abreast of new trends, research, and advancements in the field.
* Encourage and guide residents in pursuing board certification and advanced training opportunities.

Administrative Responsibilities:

* Contribute to departmental and institutional committees, boards, and projects as assigned by the department chair.
* Participate in faculty meetings, curriculum planning, and academic governance.
* Assist with the recruitment and training of new faculty and residents.

Community Engagement:

* Represent the institution and department at professional conferences, community outreach programs, and public health initiatives.
* Develop and promote educational outreach activities and partnerships within the community related to oral and maxillofacial health.

Qualifications:

Education:

* DDS, DMD, or MD degree from an accredited institution.
* Completion of a recognized residency program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
* Board certification or eligibility in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Experience:

* Clinical and/or academic experience in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
* Freshers may also apply.
* Proven experience in teaching and mentoring students, residents, or colleagues.
* Research experience is highly desirable.

Skills and Abilities:

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills for teaching and mentoring students.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
* Strong clinical and surgical skills in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
* A passion for education, research, and advancing the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Licensing/Certifications:

* Active medical or dental licensure, as required by the institution and regional regulations.
* Board certification in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, or eligibility for certification, is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

* Ability to perform clinical tasks that require physical dexterity, such as performing surgeries and handling instruments.
* Ability to work in clinical and classroom environments with extended periods of standing and teaching.

Work Environment:

* Academic environment with clinical and classroom settings.
* Participation in on-call duties and evening/weekend shifts may be required depending on institutional needs.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 – ₹25,000.00 per year
