Objective
To function as a senior faculty member of the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and to impart teaching, provide patient care, conduct research, and discharge administrative responsibilities in accordance with the norms and standards prescribed by the Dental Council of India (DCI) and the policies of the institution.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct teaching and training of undergraduate (BDS) students as per the prescribed syllabus and academic calendar.
- Undertake and supervise clinical work in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, including minor and major surgical procedures.
- Guide postgraduate students in thesis work, research activities, and publications.
Conduct internal assessments, practical examinations, and participate in university examinations. - Maintain prescribed academic, clinical, and departmental records for inspection purposes.
- Participate in departmental meetings, institutional committees, and academic activities.
- Assist/act as the Head of the Department and assist the Principal in departmental administration and DCI inspections.
- Ensure compliance with biomedical waste management, infection control, and patient safety protocols.
- Undertake any other academic or administrative duties assigned by the competent authority.
Eligibility (As per DCI Norms)
- MDS in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery from a DCI-recognized dental college.
- Registered with the State Dental Council / Dental Council of India.
- Teaching experience as prescribed by DCI, including requisite years as Associate Professor.
