Job Purpose
To contribute to high-quality education, clinical training, and research in the field of Prosthodontics. The Reader will play a leadership role in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students, mentoring junior faculty, conducting research, and ensuring excellent clinical care.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching and Academics
• Conduct lectures, practical’s, and clinical demonstrations for BDS and MDS students.
• Guide and evaluate undergraduate and postgraduate research projects and dissertations.
• Prepare academic materials, maintain records of academic performance, and participate in curriculum development.
• Organize seminars, journal clubs, and case presentations.
Clinical Responsibilities
• Supervise and guide students in the Prosthodontics clinics.
• Oversee patient care in fixed and removable prosthodontics, maxillofacial prosthetics, and implant prosthodontics.
• Ensure adherence to quality and ethical standards in patient care.
Research and Publications
• Undertake independent and collaborative research projects in prosthodontics.
• Publish research work in peer-reviewed national and international journals.
• Guide postgraduate students in research methodology and thesis writing.
Administrative and Departmental Duties
• Assist in departmental administration, timetabling, and planning of academic schedules.
• Support the Head of Department in achieving departmental goals and regulatory compliance.
• Participate in university inspections, NAAC/NABH preparations, and DCI audit processes.
Qualifications and Experience
• Educational Qualification: MDS in Prosthodontics from a DCI-recognized institution.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years teaching experience in a dental college, with at least 4 years as a Senior Lecturer or equivalent.
• Registration: Must be registered with the Dental Council of India.
